A proud heritage of style, service and quality since 1953

In 1953 David Lindsey Jr. saw a golden opportunity. Having noticed the recent interest in classic men’s style on college campuses across the country, and having witnessed the enthusiasm for traditional and Ivy League preferences in the South East (particularly Chapel Hill, Charlotte, and Atlanta,) he convinced his father to shift the focus of the family business from general merchandise to high-quality menswear. With that change, David Lindsey Clothier was founded, and to this day the company is known far and wide for the finest quality, service and style.

Ed Moore

If there is one thing that successful, well-dressed gentlemen across the state of South Carolina are apt to have in common, it’s the likelihood that they have Ed Moore’s business card within reach. He is known far and wide as the go-to-guy, not just the finest clothing, but the finest service and style advice around. If you care about the way you look, then you need to know Ed. He has managed the store for the last 20 years and you simply won’t find a more solid guy to do business with.

Carmen Kinney

Every town across the south has it’s own MVP when it comes to style and taste. In Greenwood, that person is unquestionably Carmen Kinney. Her knack for color, pattern, and texture are evident in everything she does, and she’s as helpful and charming as they come. If you need help picking your first pocket square, or selecting the most outlandish bow tie for the Carolina Cup, or you just need a phone call when the new Southern Tide T-shirts come in – Carmen is your connection.

Our Location

Home to David Lindsey Clothier since 2009, this beautifully renovated 2,500 sq. foot space in the heart of downtown Greenwood has towering windows, allowing ample natural light to fill the store. You can see the color and detail of all our beautiful products with an accuracy that artificial light often doesn’t allow. You’ll love the ambiance here – the high ceilings, the generous mirrors, the sharply-dressed mannequins, a little Frank Sinatra playing in the background – it’s simply the perfect place to be fitted for a new suit, or just visit with Ed and Carmen to see what’s new this season. So come on in. No appointment is necessary, and we’re looking forward to your visit.
